Terms of service

Effective 4 September 2026

Pego is an online accounting platform operated by Dialektos Investments (Pty) Ltd, a company registered in Botswana ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using Pego you agree to these terms. If you are accepting on behalf of a business, you confirm you have authority to bind that business.

1. Your account

You need an account to use Pego. Keep your login details private: everything done under your account is treated as done by you. Tell us immediately at investments@dialektos.biz if you believe your account has been compromised. You must be at least 18 and provide accurate information when signing up.

2. Your data is yours

The books, documents, contact records and files you put into Pego belong to you or your business, not to us. You give us permission to store and process them only as needed to run the service for you (see the privacy policy for details, including how AI features process your documents). You can export your records, and you can ask us to delete your account and its data.

3. What Pego is, and is not

Pego is bookkeeping and compliance software. It calculates, organises and produces documents from the information you enter, but it is not an accounting, tax or legal advisor, and its output does not replace professional advice. You remain responsible for the accuracy of your records and for your filings with BURS or any other authority.

Some features use artificial intelligence to read receipts and bank statements and to suggest matches or categories. These are suggestions: a human on your team approves them before anything is recorded, and you should review them like any bookkeeper's draft.

4. Acceptable use

Don't use Pego to break the law, to keep fraudulent records, to infringe anyone's rights, to probe or disrupt the service, or to access other customers' data. We may suspend accounts that put the service or other customers at risk, and we will tell you when we do unless the law prevents it.

5. Fees

Pego is currently free to use. If we introduce paid plans, we will give existing customers clear notice of pricing and a genuine choice before anything is charged.

6. Availability and changes

We work to keep Pego available and your data safe, including daily infrastructure-level backups, but no online service can promise perfect uptime. We may improve or change features over time; if a change materially reduces what the service does for you, we will say so in advance where reasonably possible.

7. Liability

To the maximum extent Botswana law allows, Pego is provided "as is", and our total liability for any claim connected to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (or BWP 1,000 if you paid nothing). We are not liable for indirect losses such as lost profits. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

8. Ending the relationship

You can stop using Pego and ask for your account to be closed at any time. We may close accounts that seriously or repeatedly breach these terms. On closure we will, on request, give you a reasonable opportunity to export your records before deletion.

9. Governing law and changes to these terms

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Botswana, and the courts of Botswana have jurisdiction over disputes. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will notify account holders by email or in the product before the change takes effect. Continued use after that notice means acceptance.
